Evan, the youngest of six siblings and a fourth-generation member of the U.S. Army, grew up immersed in military life as an “Army Brat,” with both parents serving and a brother who is currently in the service. He excelled as an athlete, earning the Iron Man award for playing three sports throughout his four years of high school. During his time at De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, Michigan, he became a two-time back-to-back state football champion, dominated the lacrosse field, shot hoops as a shooting guard, and even joined the swim team in his senior year to round out his athletic achievements.
Although he received multiple college football offers, Evan chose to follow in his family’s footsteps by enlisting in the Army at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He served with distinction in the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, as an airborne combat medic. His commitment to serving others and protecting those in need was unwavering, as was his loyalty to his country, his faith in God, and his devotion to his family and friends. He was a devoted son, father, husband, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend—a truly remarkable individual whose compassion and courage were unmatched.
Evan’s volunteer work and dedication to helping others were testaments to his character. He was the kind of friend everyone wished they had, and his commitment to his loved ones was steadfast. Evan’s memory lives on as a shining example of service, courage, and love, proving that no one could, or ever will, measure up to the exceptional man that he was.
