SSGT Curtiss S. Graves, a native of Canton, Ohio, epitomized unwavering courage and dedication during his commendable 13-year service in the U.S. Army. His unwavering commitment was especially evident through three consecutive tours in Helmand Province, Afghanistan, and at various undisclosed forward operating posts within the US Army Regional Command East. Upon returning from the theater in Ft. Sill, OK, where he garnered multiple accolades, Curtiss began grappling with severe symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress, ultimately leading to his medical retirement due to the invisible wounds he carried.

A genuine servant leader, Curtiss, upon returning home, selflessly dedicated himself to caring for his mother and sister, who had faced the devastation of a house fire the same year. In his later years, he emerged as a prominent figure in the NFL Football Hall of Fame, actively contributing as a lead volunteer and serving as a mentor in numerous youth basketball, football, and wrestling camps.

Curtiss, the epitome of an exemplary big brother, personally coached and guided one sibling to a successful stint in USC Football, alongside notable figures like Reggie Bush, Lindell White, and Matt Leinart. Additionally, he leveraged his unique talents to influence another brother to join the USAF, where Curtiss played a pivotal role in shaping him into the rare and esteemed rank of Chief Master Sergeant/First Sergeant (E-9).
