SPC Jackson Johnson

12/14/1998- 3/05/2019

Specialist Jackson D Johnson from Hillsboro, MO enlisted in the Army when he was a Junior in High School and 17 years old. He did a split training. He went to Basic Training summer of 2016 then came home to do his senior year of High School. In summer 2018 he then went to AIT.

Johnson was assigned to a unit in MT Vernon, Illinois. In 2018 Jackson went to his parents and gave them the news he was volunteering to deploy with another unit. In October 2018 Johnson deployed to Kuwait with his Unit the 657th Combat Transportation Unit.

On March 5, 2019 at the age of 20 Johnson and 2 of his sergeants were coming back from a mission when a water tank truck crashed into them. That accident killed Specialist Jackson Johnson along with 1 of his Sergeants and badly injured the other Sergeant. That day Johnson's family got the visit no family wants to get. Specialist Johnson paid the ultimate sacrifice that day and died doing what he loved, which was protecting his country and being a Soldier.

Jackson had a heart of gold. He was the best son a parent could ask for, best big brother, best friend to many. Jackson loved to see people smile therefore he constantly wanted to tell jokes or play music really loud. Jackson loved helping people whenever he could even if it was just opening a door for someone. He never met a stranger, always took time to stop and say Thank you to a veteran along with shaking their hand. Jackson always put family before anything else.

Specialist Jackson Johnson will forever be missed by his family, friends and fellow brothers and sisters in arms.
