The Story Behind Honor Brewing: From Mission to Taproom

Great beer brings people together. At Honor Brewing Company, it's also a way to honor those who have served.

What started as a simple idea has grown into one of Northern Virginia's most unique veteran-owned craft breweries—a place where exceptional beer, great food, and meaningful purpose come together under one roof. Every pint poured is rooted in a mission that's bigger than brewing.

A Brewery Built on Service

Honor Brewing Company was founded in 2014 by U.S. Army veteran Allen O. Cage Jr., who spent 24 years serving his country before beginning a new mission: creating a brewery that celebrates service, sacrifice, and community. Rather than building just another taproom, Allen envisioned a place where people could gather, connect, and remember the heroes who make our freedoms possible.

From the beginning, Honor Brewing has believed that great beer can do more than fill a glass—it can tell stories, bring people together, and create opportunities to give back.

More Than Great Craft Beer

While we're passionate about brewing exceptional beer, our purpose extends far beyond what's in the pint.

Every flagship beer is crafted with the same attention to quality and consistency that defines our company. Whether you're enjoying a crisp Classic Lager, the refreshing Classic Lite, a hop-forward Freedom IPA, or one of our seasonal releases, every beer reflects the values that inspired Honor Brewing: integrity, craftsmanship, and community.

We believe every visit should be memorable—not just because of the beer, but because of the experience.

Growing From a Small Tasting Room

Honor Brewing began with a tasting room in Chantilly, Virginia. As the community grew around us, so did our vision.

Today, our flagship brewery and restaurant in Loudoun features a 30,000-square-foot production facility, full-service restaurant, spacious outdoor patio, beer garden, fire pits, and live entertainment stage. We've also expanded with our Fairfax Taphouse & Kitchen, while our original Chantilly location continues to serve as a private event venue.

No matter which location you visit, you'll find the same welcoming atmosphere built around bringing people together.

Brewing With Purpose

Our mission doesn't stop when the beer is brewed.

Supporting veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families remains at the heart of everything we do. Through initiatives like our Charity Tap Line, featured charity beers, community partnerships, and the Heroes of Honor Foundation, Honor Brewing continues to invest in organizations making a difference across Northern Virginia and beyond.

Giving back isn't a marketing campaign—it's part of who we are.

A Place to Gather

Whether you're stopping in for lunch, watching the big game, enjoying live music, celebrating with friends, or hosting a private event, Honor Brewing is designed to be more than a brewery.

It's a place where conversations happen over pints, families gather around the table, coworkers celebrate milestones, and strangers become regulars.

Our walls celebrate service. Our events build community. And our beer helps create memories worth raising a glass to.

Looking Ahead

As Honor Brewing continues to grow, our mission remains unchanged.

We'll keep brewing great beer. We'll keep creating spaces where people feel welcome. And we'll continue honoring the men and women whose service inspires everything we do.

Because at Honor Brewing, every pint tells a story—and every visit is a chance to become part of it.

If you're looking for a veteran-owned brewery in Northern Virginia where quality beer, genuine hospitality, and purpose come together, we invite you to stop by one of our taprooms. Come raise a glass with us, enjoy handcrafted beer and great food, and experience what Honor Brewing is all about.
